Thoughts about Depression and Anxiety
by flower inthis is mostly directed to others that were born/raised in the cult.
more specifically those raised in the cult who also suffered from severe depression and/or social anxiety disorder or any other mental illness (other than the normal probs that come with being in the borg).
sometimes i wonder if its just me that doesnt feel like a person now.

Well, here's my story... Like it or not.
by staceman inwow... i feel guilty about even being here, let alone posting my story.
but here goes.... it was back in the late 60's that my dad (actually stepdad who adopted me and my older sister when he married our mother) got witnessed to by a guy that he worked with.
he was invited to our house for dinner along with his wife and that was the beginning of my new life.

I rember when he your sister that he wouldnt support us getting married becuase i wasnt good enough for hisdaughter guess i proved him right huh,
I guess im writing this reply because i wish i knew how you felt back then because i felt alot of the same we could have talked about alot besides the vikings.
so what im trying to say is even though we are not brother in laws anymore i still want to be your brother(dont meen to sound sappy) but we both lost our familys but we need to get togather and hang out its about the only way to beet the depression that your feeling i know cuz i went through it and i tried to beaat it by the bottel and that didnt help well yeh it did at times but its not the answer.

One day a associate of mine (cakked an asociate b/c i couldnt have worldy friends) was over helping me put a transmision in my truck. We got to talking about religon, and he asked if it was true thay witnesses had to ask people i for dinner if they happened to stop by while we were eating. just after i got done telling him that that was the stupidest thing i had ever heard. my mother comes out and asked him to stay for dinner.

Hey,
i think its funny that you were told that you couldnt love Jehovah and divorce your husband. My wife was told the oppodite,we had a realy bad marrige and hen she wanted out she was asked why and told the elders that i was a alcholic, when they asked for proof she brought her sister in who was also unscriptualy seperated from her husband and they corroborated stories, and as you know when you have 2 or mor witnesses then everything is true. the sad thing is that they wouldnt belive me when i said that the stories werent true. i even brought defence wittnesses to my "trial" but they wouldnt listen. gues thats what happenes when 2 of the elders on your commmite are best friends with your wifes father.but i gu4ess i look at it as a blessing in disguise cuz i was living a double life but i wasnt a alcholic , i guesss thats what i got pissed off about they could have df"ed me for anything else but that cuz that wasnt truetake care

Well if i rember right babolyn represents the whole world of false religon.(but i could be wrong) Any way the point was that the political leaders will turn on the muslims faster than the christians so we must be realy close to the end.
so if anyone has heard anything similar let me know of if yor interested ill forward the emaillater peeps,

Ben,
hey man i cant help with any info about your grandfather, but yousaid somthing that interested me, You said that you think the jw's are right and you said that your more lonley now thatn before. As you have heard before you cant be on the fence if your in the "TRUTH" its a organization that you need to be in 100% or out of 100%, there is no middel ground. I know i am a newbie here but i get the impressopn that most people on htis site are here because we dont belive, if you do thikthat the JW's are right then i would encourage you to go back the reasons that your grandfather got DF'ed shouldnt even be important. but then again ive been known to be wrong befor. any way take care man hope to see ya around here againNot interested

to all who were DF'd
by somebody inhi folks,.
i'm doing some interesting research on the procedure of reinstatement back into the org.. if anyone here can relate how many months/years passed by from the time you got df'd, till the time you got reinstated, it would be very helpful.
also include how often elders met with you, if you attended meetings regularly during the time you were df'd, and if you approached the elders for reinstatement(and how many times you approached them), or they approached you.

Sombody,
the first time i was DF'ed it took 6 months to get reinstated i was 16 i never missed a meting even the one that i got booted at. That was im 1989 now i find myself df'ed again and havent been to a meeting in about 2 years(i dont miss it ) but the other day a elder called nd left me a message asking if they could meet with me sometime, i ahvent clled them back and dont thik i will somthing interesting though is they told me when they gave me the boot that in a year i could try to get reinstated now ive never been a elder but i dont think they cn put a time limit on how long somone has to be out a guy i studied with was df'ed and reinstated within 2 months so who knows. Hope this helps with your research
